Internet Email setup instructions for Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Microsoft Mail (Vista), etc.

You will need to open your email program.  If there are currently no email accounts entered into your program, the wizard may start.  If you already are using an email account from another provider, you will need to click on <Tools>, then <Accounts> or <Email Accounts>.  Then remove any existing email accounts listed from your old provider.  Just click each one and then click <Remove>.

After removing old account info, simply follow the wizard, or click <Add> <Email> or <Mail>.  Enter in your display name.  This is the name you want people to see in the "From" field when they receive an email from you.  It is a display name, not your email address.

Next, you will need your email address, like johnx@rjia.net, whatever address you asked for when you signed up.  Next the program will ask for your incoming and outgoing mail server names.  These are POP3 and SMTP, and both get the same name: mail.rjia.net, very simple.

Next you will need your account password, which was given to you when you signed up.  Enter your password.  Do not check boxes requiring secure authentication.  Click "finish" and you are all done.  In Microsoft Outlook, you can test the settings before finishing.

If you are a dialup customer, make sure you do not have "Hang up after sending or receiving mail" checked.  This is found in <Tools>, <Options>.  If you have this field checked, you will be disconnected from our service each and every
